The medina of Essaouira

Our visit to the medina of Essaouira was very exciting.. In the early afternoon when the atmoshpere is relatively quiet we wondered through the streets and got a feel of life in the medina. Much smaller than Marrakesch and wider streets it is easy to browse the stalls with all sorts of handicrafts on offer. Thuya wood which is native to this area, pottery, of course carpets, wonderful ethnic jewellery and a few french creperies are scattered around. As yet we have not heard one word of English spoken in the streets. Most of the tourists here are French. I am sure practicing hard on my French language. Lucky I did go to French classes, we would have been totally lost!!
